In figurative art Martin is influenced by the action of a person, what that person may be thinking or is active in. With natural beauty all around, even in mundane things, Martin pushes to emphasise the wonder or awe that goes with learning something.

When Martin sits in front of a canvas he wants to create a painting that has the ingredients of being dramatic, invoking wonder and draws the observer in with the idea of adventure.
